Currently our primary use of LOINC is in the Clinical Care Document (CCD). We also use LOINC in HL7 messaging mostly for reporting results, including lab results, home tele-monitoring and public health reporting. Using LOINC in clinical CDA documents is also an interest. Since we service Medicaid, there are a number of coded document sets such as OASIS, MDS and CPHS that we are considering. LOINC is also a component in our clinical decision support engine, again using specific results in analysis, outcomes or EBM gap reporting.
