Term Description
A code for the condition that best describes the primary reason for the admission to the inpatient rehabilitation facility. For most patients, the Impairment Group Code (IGC) at discharge will be the same codes as the admission IGC. If, during inpatient rehabilitation stay, the patient develops another impairment that uses more resources than the admission impairment, record the second IGC at discharge.
