91091-9Fungal ITS region [Presence] in Isolate by NAA with probe detectionActive
Part Description
LP269179-0 Fungal ITS region
The internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region of ribosomal DNA is present across a variety of bacterial and fungal pathogens. The ITS region includes ITS1 and ITS2, and plays a role in RNA processing. [PMID:25648500] The ITS region contains portions that are highly conserved across species as well as those that are species-specific. Assays targeting the conserved portion can be used to detect the presence of a pathogen, and if a pathogen is detected, further testing to determine the specific organism present is performed.
