94421-5Candida glabrata RNA [Presence] in Vaginal fluid by NAA with probe detectionActive
Part Description
LP140225-6 Candida glabrata
Previously known as Torulopsis glabrata, Candida glabrata is a fungal saprophyte that is part of the normal flora of human mucosal tissues and is usually nonpathogenic. Unlike other species of Candida, C glabarata has a nondimorphic blastoconicial morphology and a haploid genome. C glabrata often is implicated in superficial infections of the mouth, esophagus, vagina, urinary tract, and in systemic candida infections. C glabrata infection has become common in patients on immunosuppressive therapy and in patients with diabetes. It can be difficult to treat since it is resistant to a number of antifungal agents including fluconazole. As a result, immunocompromised patients have a high mortality rate when infected with C glabrata.[PMID:9880475]
