Term Description

The Child-Pugh Score is used to estimate mortality in patients with cirrhosis. Scores for encephalopathy, ascites, bilirubin, albumin, and prothrombin time or international normalized ratio (INR) are summed resulting in a total score. Total scores range from 5 to 15 points with higher scores indicating greater severity of cirrhosis. [PMID:31194448]
