Esophageal pH monitoring is the gold standard procedure for diagnosing gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The procedure can be done using a wireless pH capsule, a pH probe, or a new method that combines multichannel intraluminal impedance (MII) testing with pH testing. [NCBI Books: NBK553089]
