Description
Allergic reactions to blue dyes include skin rashes, erythema, and anaphylaxis. Non-allergic reactions include pulse-oximetry changes, blue discoloration of the skin or body fluids, and skin necrosis. Reports specify that allergic reactions to blue dyes ranged between 0.07% and 2.7% in sentinel lymph node biopsy. Methylene blue complications are rare compared to other blue dyes such as blue V and isosulfan blue PMID: 31112852. Source: Regenstrief LOINC
