Description
The ryanodine receptor is a calcium channel in the membrane of the sarcoplasmic reticulum. Ryanodine receptor antibodies are found in patients with some forms of myasthenia gravis (MG) and are associated with more severe disease. They are most commonly found in patients with MG and thymoma, are present in up to 40% of patients with late-onset MG, and are typically absent in patients with early-onset MG.
