American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians

How American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians uses LOINC:

AAVLD laboratories are using LOINC to communicate foreign animal disease and emerging animal disease laboratory analyses amongst member laboratories and the National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN).

A critical aspect of the NAHLN is the effort to standardize data, improve data quality, and increase the speed of reporting laboratory results through electronic data transfer. The NAHLN IT Solution uses an HL7 messages as the data structure standard, and LOINC and SNOMED CT as data content standards. Originally pilot-tested in five laboratories, the NAHLN IT solution is now available to all NAHLN laboratories.
