What you need to know
We are excited to be holding our first LOINC Conference outside the United States! TIC Salut Social Foundation is graciously hosting this event at the Tecnocampus Conference Centre in Mataró, Spain, about 30 km northeast of Barcelona. This beautiful new facility is located along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
Registration for this event will be opening soon
As always, the committee meetings on Oct. 23 and 25 are free and open to the public. Remote attendance of the committee meetings will be available.
We encourage you to support this event by purchasing a ticket to our day of presentations and learning on Oct. 24. We plan to offer three educational tracks: beginner, laboratory-focused, and clinical-focused. The full schedule will be presented when registration opens. Prices have not yet been determined. An early-bird rate will be available for the first month of registration.
Please note that all sessions will be conducted in English as the official language of the LOINC Conference.
Travel and lodging
We suggest you make your travel arrangements now for best price. There are several options available for lodging in and around Mataró. You may also consult Mataró's tourism website for information about the city and points of interest.
Call for presentation proposals
You are invited to propose a workshop session or presentation for the next LOINC Conference. LOINC Conference attendees are engaged learners. This is your chance to share your expertise, lessons learned from practical experience, and to help guide others on the path to successful use of LOINC.
Send your proposed workshop, presentation, or panel topic along with a brief summary to email@example.com. Be sure to include: name and organization for all presenters, title of your presentation, and short description of your talk. Presentations should be limited to 50-60 minutes to allow plenty of time for questions.
For this Conference, we are especially interested in expanding our sessions to include one or more panel discussions, which could include different stakeholder perspectives on the same theme, or a collective discussion about issues and lessons from different organizations of a similar kind (e.g. laboratories, ministries of health, IVD vendors, etc). Keep in mind this event will cover LOINC's scope across laboratory and clinical domains, so we will feature a broad range of topics.
There will also be time available to present updates and key issues for discussion at both the Laboratory LOINC Committee (Oct. 23) and Clinical LOINC Committee (Oct. 25) meetings. Presenters will receive complimentary access to all workshop sessions plus a bag of exclusive LOINC goodies.
Proposals are due by Friday, July 19
We will notify selected participants before the end of July.
