Term Description
Capsule endoscopy is a non-invasive procedure used to evaluate various types of gastrointestinal (GI) pathology. It involves the patient swallowing a capsule containing cameras that capture images of the gastrointestinal tract. The use of upper GI capsule endoscopy has been studied for esophageal and gastric varices as well as suspected upper GI bleeding. [PMID:33111600]
