LP421090-4 Ilheus virus
Ilheus virus (ILHV) was isolated from mosquitoes in Brazil in 1944. ILHV belongs to the family Flaviviridae, genus Flavivirus in the Ntaya antigenic complex [PMID:32872425]. Flaviviruses are single-stranded positive-sense RNA viruses [PMID:31083507]. ILHV has been isolated from multiple mosquito species and from various bird species. Vectors include Ochlerotatus and Psorophora. Symptoms range from asymptotic to rare reports of severe febrile disease with cardiac system or central nervous system (CNS) involvement [PMID:22377378]. Mild symptoms present as mild febrile illness, gastrointestinal symptoms, respiratory symptoms, headache, myalgia, photophobia, and arthralgia [PMID:32872425][PMID:22377378].
