Part Descriptions
LP189366-0 US.tissue doppler
Doppler ultrasound detects the shift in frequency of ultrasound signals reflected from moving objects. Conventional Doppler techniques assess the velocity of blood flow by measuring high-frequency, low-amplitude signals from small, fast-moving blood cells. In tissue doppler ultrasound, the same Doppler principles are used to quantify the higher-amplitude, lower-velocity signals of myocardial tissue motion. PMID: 16534017

LP199284-3 Tissue velocity.S wave.max
The s' wave represents the mitral or tricuspid valve annular tissue velocity on doppler ultrasound during systole. The peak mitral and tricuspid valve annular velocities are a measure of left and right ventricular systolic function, respectively. The time interval between the end of the a' wave (atrial contraction), and the beginning of s' is also an indicator of systolic ventricular function, whereas the interval between the end of s' and the beginning of the e' wave (early diastole) is an indicator of diastolic ventricular function.
