Part Descriptions
LP191895-4 Blood flow.deceleration time.E wave
The E wave and A waves on Doppler ultrasound represent the flow of blood into the ventricle (ventricular filling) during early diastole and atrial contraction, respectively. The E wave is typically larger than the A wave. The E wave deceleration time is the time between the E wave peak velocity and its return to baseline in mid-diastole before the start of the A wave. The deceleration time is a measure of diastolic function that is sensitive to atrial pressure and ventricular relaxation and compliance. PMID: 20451803

LP6617-7 US.doppler
Doppler ultrasound detects the shift in frequency of ultrasound signals reflected from moving objects. Conventional Doppler techniques assess the velocity of blood flow by measuring high-frequency, low-amplitude signals from small, fast-moving blood cells. PMID: 16534017
