LP17202-0 Streptococcus sp
Streptococcus are a genus of spherical or ovoid bacteria whose organisms occur in pairs or chains. They are catalase negative,non-spore-forming, facultative anaerobes. Many species are commensals or parasites on man or animals, whereas some species, like Streptococcus pneumoniae and Streptococcus pyogenes are well characterized pathogens. A few species are saprophytes and occur in the natural environment.

LP17202-0 Streptococcus sp
Streptococcus is a genus of spherical Gram-positive bacteria belonging to the lactic acid bacteria group. Most streptococci are oxidase- and catalase-negative, and many are facultative anaerobes. In the medical setting, the most important groups are the alpha-hemolytic streptococci S. pneumoniae and Streptococcus Viridans-group, and the beta-hemolytic streptococci of Lancefield groups A and B (also known as "Group A strep" and "Group B strep"). Other beta-hemolytic groups include C, D (enterococci), F, G, and H.
