LP16838-2 Tin
Tin is a component of many soils and may be released in dusts from wind storms, roads, and farming activities. Gases, dusts, and fumes containing tin may be released from smelting and refining processes, burning of waste, and burning of fossil fuels (coal or oil). In small amounts tin does not cause any harmful effects, however, ingesting large amounts of inorganic tin may cause abdominal pain, anemia, and liver and kidney problems. There is no evidence that inorganic tin compounds affect reproductive functions, produce birth defects, or cause cancer.
