Multigene analysis for cancer-related variants is performed by various molecular techniques, including multiplex PCR and next generation sequencing (NGS), to identify genetic variants that may increase a person's risk for various types of cancer and help determine treatment options. Testing may be performed on genomic DNA from whole blood, bone marrow, and tumor specimens.
