16112-5 Estrogen receptor [Interpretation] in Tissue
Part Descriptions
LP18567-5 Estrogen receptor
Estrogen receptor refers to a group of receptors which are activated by the hormone 17β-estradiol (estrogen). Two types of estrogen receptor exist: ER which is a member of the nuclear hormone family of intracellular receptors and the estrogen G protein coupled receptor GPR30 (GPER), which is a G-protein coupled receptor. This article refers to the nuclear hormone receptor ER.
The main function of the estrogen receptor is as a DNA binding transcription factor which regulates gene expression. However the estrogen receptor also has additional functions independent of DNA binding.
Estrogen receptors are over-expressed in around 70% of breast cancer cases, referred to as "ER-positive", and can be demonstrated in such tissues using immunohistochemistry.

Part Descriptions
LP14902-8 Progesterone receptor
The progesterone receptor (PR, also known as NR3C3 or nuclear receptor subfamily 3, group C, member 3), is a protein found inside cells. It is activated by the steroid hormone progesterone.
In humans, PR is encoded by a single PGR gene residing on chromosome 11q22, it has two main forms, A and B, that differ in their molecular weight

- Previous Releases: Based on Clinical LOINC Committee review (2/2016), it was decided that there is little, if any, distinction between plan of treatment and plan of care notes. This term was meant to represent a general plan of care/treatment note. In order to align with the LOINC Document Ontology model, the Component was changed from "Plan of treatment" to "Plan of Care note", System changed from "Treatment plan" to {Setting}, Scale changed from "Nar" to "Doc" and Method changed from null to {Role}.;

59408-5 Oxygen saturation in Arterial blood by Pulse oximetry
Part Descriptions
LP21258-6 Oxygen saturation
Oxygen saturation (sO2) is defined as the ratio of oxyhemoglobin to "active" hemoglobin (oxyhemoglobin + deoxyhemoglobin). Some say the term oxygen saturation has been erroneously redefined with a denominator of "total" instead of "active" hemoglobin, an ambiguity that can sometimes create confusion when viewing reported values from different instruments (Anesth Analg. 2007 Dec;105(6 Suppl):S5-9.) Oxygen saturation is commonly measured by blood gas analyzers and pulse oximetry.

34122-2 Pathology procedure note
Part Descriptions
LP74249-1 Procedure note
Procedure note is a broad term that encompasses many specific types of non-operative procedures including interventional cardiology, interventional radiology, gastrointestinal endoscopy, osteopathic manipulation, and many other specialty fields. Procedure Notes are differentiated from Operative Notes in that the procedures documented do not involve incision or excision as the primary act. The Procedure Note is created immediately following a non-operative procedure and records the indications for the procedure and, when applicable, post-procedure diagnosis, pertinent events of the procedure, and the patient's tolerance of the procedure.

Functional statuses include information regarding the patient relative to ambulatory ability, mental status or competency, activities of daily living (ADLs) (i.e. bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming), home/living situation having an effect on the health status of the patient, ability to care for self, social activity (i.e. issues with social cognition, participation with friends and acquaintances other than family members), occupation activity (i.e. activities partly or directly related to working), housework or volunteering, family and home responsibilities or activities related to home and family, communication ability (i.e. issues with speech, writing or cognition required for communication), and perception, including sight, hearing, taste, skin sensation, kinesthetic sense, proprioception, or balance.

- Previous Releases: Edited Component part from "Allergies, adverse reactions, alerts" to "Allergies &or adverse reactions." We removed the word "alerts" because it was potentially confusing by implying that it may contain other kinds of warnings (as a arbitrary example: public health disease outbreak notifications) when in fact it was always intended to be the typical "allergies" section.;

56780-0 CYP21A2 gene mutations tested for in Blood or Tissue by Molecular genetics method Nominal
Part Descriptions
LP28553-3 CYP21A2 gene
The CYP21A2 gene (cytochrome P450, family 21, subfamily A, polypeptide 2) [HGNC Gene ID:2600] is located on chromosome 6p21.3. This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and hydroxylates steroids at the 21 position. Its activity is required for the synthesis of steroid hormones including cortisol and aldosterone. Mutations in this gene cause congenital adrenal hyperplasia. A related pseudogene is located near this gene; gene conversion events involving the functional gene and the pseudogene are thought to account for many cases of steroid 21-hydroxylase deficiency. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] [NCBI Gene ID:1589]

18046-3 Left ventricular Ejection fraction by US 2D modified
Part Descriptions
LP35012-1 Ejection fraction
In cardiovascular physiology, ejection fraction (Ef) is the fraction of blood pumped out of a ventricle with each heart beat. The term ejection fraction applies to both the right and left ventricles; one can speak equally of the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and the right ventricular ejection fraction (RVEF). Without a qualifier, the term ejection fraction refers specifically to that of the left ventricle.

Two-dimensional (2D) imaging is one of three ultrasound modes (2D, M-mode, and Doppler) used for cardiac imaging. 2D imaging is the primary method of cardiac imaging and allows structures to be viewed moving in real time in a cross-section of the heart (two dimensions). It is used to detect abnormal anatomy or motion. The most common cross-sectional views are the parasternal long axis, the parasternal short axis, and the apical view. The gastric or subcostal and suprasternal views are also commonly used. [NCBI Books: NBK2215]
