Term Description

Plasmalogen testing of dimethyl acetals (DMAs) in packed red blood cells for determining defects in plasmalogen synthesis and diagnosis of related diseases, including Rhizomelic chondrodysplasia punctata and Zellweger disease spectrum. The submitters laboratory performs gas chromatography with flame detector of dimethyl acetals to identify and quantify DMAs.
