Adenovirus 40+41 fiber protein gene [Presence] in Stool by NAA with probe detection
Active
Term Description
Qualitative detection of targeted nucleic acids in Adenovirus serotypes 40 and 41 fiber protein gene in stool specimens by real-time PCR-based methods. This assay does not differentiate between the two serotypes. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the submitter's test kit, xTAG® Gastrointestinal Pathogen Panel (GPP).

Part Description
LP207297-5 Adenovirus 40+41 fiber protein gene
The Adenovirus (AdV) fiber protein gene, whose product facilitates cellular attachment and hemagglutination, can be used to differentiate AdV species A through F in PCR-based assays. PMCID: PMC87550 A conserved region of the fiber protein gene in the enteric AdV species F (serotypes 40/41) can be used to detect and identify the virus in various clinical and environmental specimens. PMCID: PMC1151802
