Lasalocid (brand names: Bovatec and Avatec) is an ionophore antibiotic obtained from Streptomyces lasaliensi. It is used as a coccidiostat, especially in poultry. [PubChem: lasalocid] Ionophore antibiotics have the potential to cause toxicosis either by excessive dose levels or when administered with other potentiating agents. PMID: 3674564
