The quantitative cycle threshold value for the detection of nucleic acids within the N gene of the SARS-related Coronavirus (SARSr-CoV) in various specimens, including lower & upper respiratory, serum, stool or urine, by PCR with probe-based detection. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the N3 primer-probe set used in the COVID-19 assay developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).[CDC: coronavirus/COVID-19/lab/]
