Description

Buckwheat is grown almost worldwide, but is especially common in China and Iraq. Its original habitat is obscure. It is a member of the Polygonaceae group of weeds. In China another type of Buckwheat, Tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tartaricum) is grown and consumed (1).
