Version 2.78

Description

Hematopoietic progentitor (stem) cells give rise to all of the blood cells, these cells are less mature than blasts. They are represent about 1 of 10,000 myeloid cellls in bone marrow. The Sysmex system defines them on the basis of their size and internal complexity not on the basis of particular CDx cells as is possible with cytometers. In particular this count will include both CD34+ and CD34- cells. Automated counters detect them via their direct current and radio frequency signals. Source: Regenstrief Help
