Alkaline phosphatase.intestinal
Active
Description
Intestinal alkaline phosphatase (I-ALP) isoenzymes are produced by cells lining the intestines. The presence of intestinal isoenzymes is common and typically not associated with any pathological condition, especially at normal total AP activity level. Intestinal isoenzymes may be increased in patients with cirrhosis and in individuals who are blood group type O or B. Other alkaline phosphatase (ALP) isoenzymes are found in the liver, bone, placenta, and kidneys. Source: Regenstrief LOINC
