Descriptions

Clindamycin, a lincosamide antibiotic, is semisynthetic and derived from lincomycin by 7(S)-chloro-substitution of the 7(R)-hydroxyl group of lincomycin. It is marketed under various trade names, including Dalacin, Duac, BenzaClin, and Clindoxyl and Acanya (in combination with benzoyl peroxide), and Ziana (with tretinoin).
