Version 2.78

Description

Trichoderma viride can be ranked as one of the most widely distributed of all soil fungi. It appears in all investigations of habitats in the extreme north, in alpine areas as well as in numerous analyses from tropical regions. There are many references for a wide range of forests, grasslands and cultivated soils. It can grow on other fungi, is commonly found on fallen timber and on tapestry, in moist dwellings and often isolated in kitchens, where it grows on unglazed ceramics. Trichoderma can cause problems in the industrial cultivation of mushrooms and also tulip bulbs may frequently be infected.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that T. viride may induce symptoms of asthma and hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) in sensitised individuals. (17) However, few studies have been reported to date. Copyright Copyright © 2006 Phadia AB. Source: ImmunoCap, ImmunoCap
