Active
Description
Methylhexanamine, commonly known as 1,3-dimethylamylamine or DMAA, is a simple aliphatic amine initially marketed as a nasal decongestant (trademarked as Forthane), as well as treatment for hypertrophied or hyperplasic oral tissues. It is a vasoconstrictor, and can be administered by inhalation to the nasal mucosa to exert its effect. It is an ingredient found in a number of stimulants and supplements marketed to athletes as a fat burner/metabolizer. But, being a mild stimulant, it is banned by a number of sports governing bodies.
