Description

Chromosomal translocation t(14;18)(q32;q21.3) IGH-BCL2 is found in follicular lymphomas (80-90%), diffuse large cell lymphomas (30%), and rarely in other lymphoproliferative disorders. It mainly occurs in B- cell non-hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL). This translocation is cytogenetically indistinguishable from t(14;18)(q32;q21) IGH-MALT1.[Atlas Genetics Oncology: t1418ID2006] FISH with probes specific to the targeted genes distinguishs between the two different rearrangements.
