Mycobacterium bovis is a slow-growing aerobic bacterium. Bovine tuberculosis is a disease caused by Mycobacterium bovis infection in cattle and occurs in every country of the world. It is of major importance to the dairy cattle industry. M. bovis is usually transmitted to humans by consuming raw, infected cows milk, although it can also spread via aerosol droplets.
