Description
Isoxanthopterin is a pteridin present in plasma, urine, and other bodily fluids. Blau et. al. (1996) reported increased ratios of pterin to isoxanthopterin in patients with hereditary xanthinuria [OMIM: 278300] and molybdenum cofactor deficiency [OMIM: 252150]. PMID: 8812740 Isoxanthopterin and other pterines have been found to be significantly increased in cancer patients. PMID: 20869359 Source: Regenstrief LOINC
