Dyssynchrony index.systole
Active
Description
Left ventricular (LV) systolic dyssynchrony represents variability in the timing of contraction in different LV myocardial segments. The mechanical dyssynchrony index, also
known as the Yu index, is one measure of systolic dyssynchrony and is calculated based on the standard deviation of the time to peak systolic velocity for each segment as measured by echo. LV dyssynchrony leads to decreased pumping efficiency and therefore a decrease in the LV ejection fraction, and is significantly correlated with LV systolic dysfunction in patients with heart failure independent of myocardial perfusion.
