Multisection for pregnancy+fetal abnormality
Active
Description
Pregnancy ultrasound terms in LOINC reflect the structure of radiology order and billing codes for pregnancy. Therefore, "Multisection for pregnancy" is defined as imaging of the pelvis and a single fetus and "Multisection for pregnancy multiple gestation" is defined as imaging of the pelvis and an additional fetus. For example, for triplet pregnancies, imaging of the first fetus would be ordered and reported under the "Multisection for pregnancy" code, and imaging of the second and third fetus would be ordered and reported using two instances of the "Multisection for pregnancy multiple gestation" code. In addition, the codes can be further specified according to "first trimester" or "second or third trimester". Source: Regenstrief LOINC
