Lymphocytes.immature
Active
Description
Immature lymphocytes include lymphoblasts and prolymphocytes. Lymphoblasts, the morphologically most immature cells of the lymphocytic series, are 10 to 20 u in diameter and usually round or oval, originating in the lymphoid tissue and marrow. Prolymphocytes are the form between lymphoblasts and lymphocytes, with a large spectrum of intermediates. In lymphocytic leukemias immature forms proliferate uncontrollably and may be found in large numbers in the peripheral blood.[Miale, J. B. (1982). Laboratory medicine hematology (6th ed.)].
