Description
Interleukin 17 (IL-17) is a group of cytokines called the IL-17 family. To date, six IL-17 ligands (IL-17A, IL-17B, IL-17C, IL-17D, IL-17E and IL-17F), and five receptors (IL-17RA, IL-17RB/IL-25R, IL-17RC, IL-17RD/SEF and IL-17RE) have been identified. PMID: 19575028 IL-17A is the most commonly studied, but interest in the rest of the IL-17 family is growing. They have been linked to the pathogenesis of diverse autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
