Clot growth.stationary
Active
Description
Clot growth is expressed as an increase in length over time and is related to the propagation stage of blood coagulation. When calculated using time-lapse microscopy (i.e., thrombodynamics or spatiotemporal clot analysis), if there is no spontaneous clotting, the growth velocity is calculated as the average growth velocity between 15-25 minutes after the beginning of clot growth and is called the stationary growth velocity. If spontaneous clotting is present, then clot growth (called initial clot growth) is calculated based on growth during the 5-minute interval preceding the appearance of spontaneous clots.
