Filling rate.diastole.max
Active
Description
Left ventricular (LV) diastolic filling parameters are based on analysis of LV volume over time as measures of LV diastolic function. The peak filling rate (PFR) is the maximum change in LV volume over time (dV/dt) during diastole. The one-third mean filling rate (1/3 MFR) is the average filling rate over the first third of diastole. The time to PFR (TPFR) is the duration of time from the end of systole to the time where the PFR occurs. The ratio of TPFR to R-R interval is the ratio of the time to peak filling to the total time of one cardiac cycle. In one study, patients with the connective tissue disorder systemic sclerosis were found to have significantly higher TPFR and TPFR/R-R interval values compared to controls. PMID: 11216514 Another study of patients with hypertension found that 1/3 MFR measured after stress was significantly lower in patients with hypertension compared to controls, as was the stress PFR.
