Description
AnWj (Anton) is a high incidence red blood cell (RBC) antigen in the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) 901 series. Anti-AnWj can cause severe hemolytic transfusion reactions. PMID: 22233405 Finding compatible units for transfusion to a patient that lacks the AnWj antigens or other high incidence antigens can be challenging.
