Mj Ab.IgG
Active
Description
Anti-Mj autoantibodies have been associated with adult polymyositis (PM) and dermatomyositis (DM), as well as juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM). The target of anti-Mj antibodies has been identified as NXP-2, also known as MORC3, a nuclear protein that has many functions including RNA metabolism and the maintenance of nuclear structure. Anti-Mj positive JDM has been associated with significant muscle weakness, polyarthritis, joint contractures, and intestinal vasculitis. Anti-Mj positive adult-onset DM is associated with calcinosis and a good response to therapy. PMID: 22546500 Source: Regenstrief LOINC, PMID: 22546500
