Phosphatidylserine-prothrombin complex
Active
Description
Antibodies directed to the phosphatidylserine and prothrombin (PS/PT) complex are detected in certain autoimmune thrombotic disorders, such as anti-phospholipid syndrome (APS). The concentration of anti-PS/PT may also be used to confirm lupus anticoagulant (LA) activity in patients on anticoagulant therapy. In these patients, LA testing may be falsely positive due to the anticoagulant interference or when the LA test is difficult to interpret. Detecting PS/PT antibodies may also assist in determining thrombosis risk and possible obstetric complications in patients with antiphospholipid antibodies. PMID: 26975968 Source: Regenstrief LOINC
