Description
Eravacycline is a synthetic tetracycline antibiotic that is structurally similar to tigecycline and inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit. It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that can be administered both orally and intravenously. It is effective against gram-positive, gram-negative and anaerobic bacteria, except for Pseudomonas aeruginosa. As of early 2017, eravacycline is being studied in phase 3 clinical trials.
