Description
Hydromorphone is an opioid and part of a large class of medications used to treat acute and chronic pain and manage opioid abuse and dependence. It is metabolized in the liver to hydromorphone-3-glucuronide (H3G, ~40%), dihydroisomorphine (~ 1%), dihydromorphine (~.1%) as well as trace amounts of hydromorphone-3-sulfate, norhydromorphone, and nordihydroisomorphone.
