Version 2.78

Description

The Phlebovirus genus is divided into two groups, the sandfly fever virus group and the Uukuniemi-like virus group. So far 70 separate viruses have been assigned to the Phlebovirus genus, including Toscana virus, Rift Valley fever virus, Sandfly fever viruses, and Uukuniemi virus. Different species are transmitted by ticks, mosquitoes, and sandflies. Phlebovirus infections can range from a self-limited febrile illness to encephalitis to a syndrome of severe fever with thrombocytopenia. PMID: 24607799 Source: Regenstrief LOINC
