Version 2.77

Description

Factor XI is produced by the liver and encoded by the FII gene. Deficiency of factor XI causes hemophilia C, an autosomal recessive condition that primarily occurs in the Ashkenazi Jewish population. Patients with severe factor XI deficiency may develop an inhibitor to factor XI after infusion of fresh frozen plasma or factor XI concentrates. Source: Regenstrief LOINC
