Version 2.78

Description

Fusarium is a genus of filamentous fungi widely distributed in soil and an important plant pathogen. In humans, certain Fusarium species can cause mycotoxicosis if it enters the food chain, and and also cause disease that is localized (such as onychomycosis), focally invasive or disseminated, with the latter occurring in immunocompromised patients. Invasive fusariosis primarily affects patients with hematologic malignancies, hematopoietic cell transplant recipients, patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis and third degree burns.
