Description
Proliferation of Candida albicans is used in the evaluation of patients with primary and secondary immunodeficiency diseases which affect T-lymphocytes. Recall antigens, such as Candida albicans and Tetanus toxoid, are capable of inducing anamnestic (recall) T cell response and stimulating lymphocyte proliferation. Used to assess T cell function in patients havingimmunosuppressive therapy and to evaluate patients with cellular or humoral immunodeficiency diseases, which include SCID (Severe Combined Immunodeficiency), CVID (Common Variable Immunodeficiency), and DiGeorge syndrome.
