Version 2.78

Description

Leukocyte clumps are white blood cells grouped together by agglutination. Leukocyte clumps in urine indicate the presence of an infection or inflammation, especially in the kidney (e.g. pyelonephritis, interstitial inflammation, parenchymal infections). Leukocyte clumps in the blood may be associated with cancer, including non-Hodgkins lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Source: Regenstrief LOINC
