Description
Candida kefyr (formerly Candida pseudotropicalis) has been a rarely pathogenic yeast, causing less that 1% of invasive Candida infections in one North American report. However, it may be an emerging pathogen in patients with hematologic malignancies. Its telomorphic form is currently recognized as Kluyveromyces marxianus PMID: 24622105. Source: Regenstrief LOINC
