B cell median channel shift
Active
Description
The median channel shift (MCS) is used to determine B and T cell crossmatch results. The MCS is a measure of a patient's antibodies against potential donor antigens. An MCS value above a certain cutoff, which can vary across laboratories, signifies a positive crossmatch, meaning that a potential recipient has antibodies to donor antigens. Higher MCS values are associated with increased risk of antibody-mediated rejection. PMID: 23798324 Source: Regenstrief LOINC
