Description

A durable T cell immune response to SARS-CoV-2 has been demonstrated that is a more sensitive
marker of past infection than humoral response. As a result, the measurement of cell-mediated immune response to SARS-CoV-2 using an interferon-gamma release assay (IGRA) similar to that used for Mycobacterium tuberculosis has been proposed as a way to evaluate the immune status of individuals and populations, as well as assess vaccines to SARS CoV-2.
